Summary/Abstract: The article presents the income situation of households in Poland as the main determinant of the level of satisfaction of consumer needs. The diagnosis of the income situation has been made based on disposable income, expressed in recognition of nominal and equivalent income. Growth and income in the years 2007–2014 and their differentiation according to socio-economic groups was presented. Additionally the self-esteem of the financial situation under the aspect of satisfying the current needs and ways of managing the household budget in case of income shortages were characterized. Also the general trend of remedial actions in case of problems of satisfying consumer needs is discussed.
