Summary/Abstract: With ever-evolving communication systems internet mediated consumption of goods and services is becoming increasingly more popular. The article analyzes the phenomenon among Polish households and looks into both their participation in on-line consumption and the level and structure of purchases realized in 2013. The participation of households in the e-consumption increases with the level of education of the head of household, degree of place’s of residence urbanization class, belonging to a higher and higher quintile group, while decreases with increasing age of its head. In examining the level of e-expenditures was also found that the higher the level of education of household head and level of wealth determined by group membership quintile, the higher the level of expenditure on purchases made over the Internet. Among the e-expenditures for the total number of households, the smallest percentage of expenditure accounted for expenditure on food and non-alcoholic beverages, and the largest for culture and recreation.
