Summary/Abstract: This article presents results of studies of households in Poland on selected determinants of self-assessment of their financial situation. For this purpose, there was conducted a comparative analysis of the relationship between self-assessment and income, consumer spending and selected characteristics of households classified as various socio-economics groups. The econometric analysis showed that the households’ self-assessment of the economic situation is strong related to both income and consumer spending. It should be emphasized also significantly impact on self-assessment the reference group, for which it was considered a socio-economic group of households. In the study were used statistical and econometrics methods. The analysis based on the data coming from the panel household budget survey conducted by the Polish Central Statistical Office in the year 2013.
