The crime of obstructing the exercise of voting rights in the present and future legislation

Summary/Abstract: In the current national context, the participation of the citizens in the political life, and also the respect of their rights has become a constant preocupation. Obstructing the exercise of the voting rights is a basic crime in the system of protecting the democratic state, which determined its maintenance in the text of the New Criminal Code. Unfortunately, its practical ocurrence, thanks to the many and somehow unclear methods, is reduced. An interventon of the lawmaker would be welcomed in oder to remove duplication, but also mainly the inconsistancies found in the field.
