Summary/Abstract: The objective of this paper is to analyze the role of the supervisory board in dual concept of corporate governance and the comparison of research conducted in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the situation in countries where the shareholding is at a higher level of development. In the dual system of corporate governance, a special role belongs to the supervisory board as a kind of link between the shareholders (owners) and management (managers). In this sense supervisory board members and structure of supervisory boards, as well as the quality of committee work is of great importance. Highlight of independent board members and number of members is important when talking about supervisory boards. The quality of the supervisory board is reflected in the number of sessions, committees appointed by the performance of their activities, continuing education and monitoring of all changes affecting specific industries. The general conclusion is that corporate governance in companies from Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not at high level and improvement in all areas is necessary.
