Summary/Abstract: Academic fiction, in general, touches upon a variety of issues concerning the grovesof academe. One of the most prominent areas comprises the university staff, particularlythe professoriate, and the lower ranks, whose predominant target is to become upgradedin the academic pecking order. In this respect, academic fiction depicts a world that ishighly hierarchical and prone to personal frictions. The aim of this article is to analysehow these problems are dissected in David Lodge’s Campus Trilogy.
