Summary/Abstract: This paper is a response to Katarzyna Dębska’s review of the book Para, mieszkanie, małżeństwo. It discusses limitations of the research presented in the book; it also refers to the author’s other papers that provide more results of this research. The paper also analyses relations between social class and diverse patterns of thinking about love, cohabitation and marriage. While the author explains that, contrarily to the reviewer’s critical comment, the subject of social class is not absent from his work, he also develops this topic in the article. The author also suggests that some patterns of thinking about love or moving in together are common, regardless of social position, while attitudes to these patterns or opportunities to follow them vary between classes. The paper also discusses results of other research conducted in Poland that correspond with the results of the author’s study. To inspire further discussion, the author encourages readers to examine a currently developed, online archive that provides (among many other sources) the transcripts of the in-depth interviews he carried out: Archiwum Badań nad Życiem Codziennym.
