Summary/Abstract: Information society is a global social and economic structure and it is the new development stage of humanity history. Because of that, no country is may stay out of this formation. Each country has overcome distance at the transition process to information society, and this process is continuing on their development condition. Azerbaijan is not an exception. In this research, the characteristics and parameters of information society have examined as a new concept. The transition process to information society, and the problems and advantages in Azerbaijan have evaluated as well. Also the usage level of the product of information and communication technology, the condition of necessary infrastructure for transition to information society, and works that done by state connected with information society have assessed.
