Derivational Category in Structural and Cognitive Linguistics (Illustrated by the Example of nomina attributiva and nomina instrumenti)

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the notion “derivation category” in the light ofstructural and cognitive linguistics. The mentioned question is described on the basis of theexample of Polish and Russian categories: nomina attributiva and nomina instrumenti. Theauthor also touches upon the question of classical categorization theory and the concept ofprototype categories which has significantly influenced the way of perception of the questionunder discussion.
