Summary/Abstract: Ivan Krylov (1769–1844) was a Russian fabulist, called “The Russian La Fontaine”,dramatist and journalist. The article contains an overview of the publications about him inthe Polish newspapers and periodicals in the fi rst half of the 19th century: the notes to thetranslation of the fables in “Tygodnik Petersburski” (1837), the biographical notes in thenewspaper “Rozmaitości” (1834, 1838), the article Russian Literature in the periodical“Zabawy Przyjemne i Pożyteczne” (1804–1806), the article The Krylov’s Fables in the“Rozmaitości” (1826). The fi rst half of the 19th century was the period of a gradualdevelopment of the Polish-Russian relations in the area of the periodical press.
