Summary/Abstract: This article consists of three parts: 1. Introduction. Mikhail Muraviov and history (Studyof history, the notes etc.), genesis of the unfinished tragedy Bolesław and ballad Bolesław, kingof Poland, Muraviov and classicism, sentimentalism and romanticism, history of Poland in Russianliterature; 2. Comparative analysis of the tragedy Bolesław (manuscript A) and ballad Bolesław,king of Poland (historical sources, plot, political and amorous themes, concept of hero, meaning);3. Conclusion (problems of genology, historical themes in Russian and Polish literature of the 18thand early 19th centuries, the tragedy Zbigniew by Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz).
