Summary/Abstract: In the summer of 2013, a small protest by a few environmentalists developed into a nationwide protest movement against the incumbent AKP government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. From then on, you could daily on the internet, newspapers and on the television to get information on rampaging protesters and state police force. We hear voices that accuse the West to have initiated the protests, the part of the protesters of the charge is made by an increasingly authoritarian or even dictatorial government to be led. This brief analysis of the events surrounding the attempted Gezi Park classify protests in the context of Turkish society and politics.
