Summary/Abstract: As a result of shifting the Polish borders to the west by the Soviet Union after the World War II, there was a need to regulate the structure of the new frontiers protection. It was particularly important to the regions where the Ukrainian Insurgent Army was operating as she was responsible for the terror on the Polish and Ukrainian population. The example of watchtower in Kalwaria Paławska is given to understand the importance of the Army Border Protection structures to the security of civilian population. The watchtower of Kalwaria Pacławska was not only the ordinary facility but first of all the center responsible, together with the local Citizens Militia posts, for the personal safety and protection from the robbery. The purpose of this article is to give the knowledge and understanding of creation, function and soldiers action of the 161 st watchtower in Kalwaria Pacławska which was the part of the thirty-fifth branch of the Army Border Protection based in Przemyśl. The following text presents selected actions, and military operations in the region where the watchtower was responsible for.
