Summary/Abstract: The introduction of new technologies into our reality has changed conditions in which teacherswork. The issue connected with these new conditions is most frequently addressed only from thedidactic perspective position. The present paper focuses on other aspects perspectives of a teacherdigital world. The teacher, students and the whole school with its structures and the local environmentexist and function in the cyberspace, regardless of whether the teacher uses new technologiesand of the extent to which he employs them in the process of teaching. This happens even if it isnot his wish and conscious choice. He might benefit from the use of new technologies or theymight bring no gains and even loses. Thus, there is only one reasonable and mature attitude. Theteacher should attempt to keep up with possibilities offered by the cyberspace and should try to bepresent in it in such a way that, firstly, his own rights are protected, secondly, he observes rulesand norms that enable safe use of the network and thirdly, he enjoys the benefits and opportunitiesthat the digital world can provide to him both in the private and professional areas. Only after fulfillingthe conditions mentioned above, we can say that the teacher is able to prepare a young personfor functioning in the enlarged contemporary social reality.
