Summary/Abstract: The article is a presentation of conditionings, assumptions and realization of the education reformof 1948. The aim of this paper is to analysis of the reform of 1948 through two main sociologicalviews: functional and conflict theory. Both of them show the education reform of 1948 was an exampleinstrumental treatment of an education. The fundamental conditioning of the education reformof 1948 was political transformation and victory of communists. The aim of all of changes inan education was indoctrination, creation of a new polish intelligentsia and development of vocationalschools. Realization of these assumptions took place by using many the Ministerial orders,instructions and guidelines.
