Summary/Abstract: The year 1918 meant for the Romanian National Party objectives for which it was created. Able to unite all Romanians in a single unified national state. In this ideal P.N.R. happy corresponded completely with that of the Romanian people. Greater Romania Party walked in with a large social base, which allowed him to move on almost the entire political scene with great political capital. Its leaders were hardened national struggle. George Pop mention here Băseşti (which unfortunately died on February 23, 1919), Iuliu Maniu, Alexandru Vaida Voivod, Vasile Goldiş, Ştefan Cicio-Pop, Teodor Mihali, Vasile Goldiş, Aurel Vlad, Aurel Lazăr, Victor Deleu and many others.Came to power in coalition with other parties of the Old Kingdom, after a few months, March 12, 1919 Prime Minister Alexandru Vaida Voivod, one of the most prominent leaders of P.N.R. is deposed by King Ferdinand and replaced by General Alexandru Averescu. At this point, P.N.R. will enter a long period of opposition until 1928, when it brought to power by the Regents.The period 1923-1925 is characterized by the policy of mergers, reorganization of subsidiaries and numerous partial parliamentary elections, which have proven strength in Transylvania and Banat National Party.Major political event of this period was the merger of the National Party, led by Maniu with the Old Kingdom Peasant Party, led by Ion Mihalache teacher. By establishing the new party under the name of National Peasant Party, creating the largest mass party in interwar Romania, able to provide rotary government, with Liberal National Party.
