The Relation of Ecclesiastical Law and State Law

Summary/Abstract: Even under the terms of separation of Church and State, ecclesiastical law and state law take notice of each other in numerous practical questions; from time to time they take account of each other’s rules; what is more, there are examples for ecclesiastical law admitting state law and state law admitting ecclesiastical law through reception. In addition to interesting aspects of legal techniques, these cases raise theoretical questions as well. The study treats the universal internal legal system of the Catholic Church and primarily focuses on the relation of regulations in Hungary.
