Summary/Abstract: This paper presents implemented and planned energy projects in the area of the Balkan Peninsula, which could have a significant influence on the regional and European energy security. In the first part was included energy balance of selected Balkan countries f.e. resources of coal, crude oil and gas; electricity production. Next it was explained question of the most important energy projects in the Balkans 70(planned pipelines) i.e. gas pipelines: South Stream, Nabucco (Nabbuco West),Trans Adriatic Pipeline, Ionian Adriatic Pipline and oil pipelines: Pan-European Pipeline and Albanian Macedonian Bulgarian Oil Piepline. The implications of the projects for the energy security of the Balkans, Central Europe and Western Europe were presented in the following section of paper. The impact of energy projects in the Balkans on energy security of the region and Europe was specified in the conclusions.
