Summary/Abstract: In the last few years, global energy policy is determined by the rapid development of non-conventional energy, in particular wind power, the lack of a unified position regarding the further development of nuclear energy, shale revolution in the United States, a controversial climate policy of the European Union and the use of natural gas for political purposes by Russia. The author tries to answer the question: which main actors operate in the energy sector of the Balkan states? There are analyzed actors in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. The author stresses the importance of the need to ensure uninterrupted supplies to customers in the European Union.
