The History of an Anthology that Refers to the Cultural and Literary Romanian-Hungarian Relations

Summary/Abstract: The anthology that was published in 1972 at the Dacia Publishing House was compiled by Engel Károly and Kocziány László, researchers of the Romanian Academy. The bilingual volume contains old Romanian songs that can be found in Hungarian manuscripts. Our study follows up the history of this volume and it’s trying to answer certain questions: who belongs the idea of editing these song to, why did they edit, what is their value, what is the importance of these songs, how was the volume received. Besides these questions, the aim of the study is to present the possibilities of the scientific activities of the minority researchers in the second half of the twentieth century, taking into consideration the volume Égő lángban forog szívem (In the flame is burning my heart).
