Summary/Abstract: One of the greatest challenges of today's job market are demographic changes, which implies that one must get interested in the problems of senior citizens, especially seniors pursuing their careers. That aspect is definitely part of the concept of active ageing and requires old-age pensioners (OAPs) to re-enter the job market. Many OAPs never stop their careers or are eager to pursue their careers again, however there are many who withdraw from their careers. An interesting approach is offered by the results of the research performed among the students of the Kazimierz Wielki University of the Third Age in Bydgoszcz; the results make one reflect on to what extent pursuing a career by senior citizens is necessary and to what extent it becomes their right and choice. What is important is that not pursuing a career does not make seniors marginalized and isolated from the society.
