Summary/Abstract: Komparatystyka dla humanistów. Podręcznik akademicki is a coursebook that responds to the needs of students of comparative literature at Polish universities. Its extensive chapters are devoted to: the modern background of comparative studies, the old and contemporary debates on intersemiotic relations, comparative literature and new media, the “old” and the “new” subdisciplines of comparative studies, such as: influence studies, translation studies, world literature, intertextuality, intercultural relations, comparative literature after the ethic turn confronted with the so-called new methodologies, cultural studies and – finally – the history of comparative movement based on reports from the International Comparative Literature Association congresses.
