Summary/Abstract: The industrialization which rapidly developed in nineteenth century led to the emerge of the concept ‘environment’ in twentieth century. Population growth which occurred in twentieth century increased the use of energy and food materials. In this period, people assumed that this increase would bring along famine. Because, industrialization was not planned and the environment factor was disregarded in that period. Organizational combat against environmental problems accelerated after 1970s. The emergence of many environment problems; mainly the global warming and the frequent cover of such problems in media have highlighted the concept of “sustainable consumption” which is considered as a resolution. In this scope, this study aims to investigate the attitudes towards sustainable consumption.
