Summary/Abstract: In her essay Anna Szurczak draws attention to the fact that in the first two decades of the 21st cen-tury, we have been witnessing constant enrichment of both source materials and research matter concerning Polish Jews. This phenomenon aptly named "the restoration of memory" has been ex-pressed in numerous and multiform ways - in works of literature, movies, or museum expositions, etc. - the perfect example of which being the multivolume recollection series "Children of Holo-caust Speak...", published on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, as well as numerous biographical works on such outstanding personalities as Janusz Korczak, Jul-ian Tuwim, Jan Brzechwa, Marek Edelman, Jan Karski, Irena Sendlerowa which broaden our knowledge about Poles of Jewish origin, persons of double identity, members of Bund, the Zionists and Orthodox Jews, and explain why nearly 10 per cent of Holocaust survivors left Poland.
