Pope Francis’ Inspirations for Pastoral Ministry of Youth

Summary/Abstract: Pastoral ministry of youth is the salvific ministry of the Church towards youth students and non-students, studying at colleges and working young people. As other pastoral ministries it needs to adopt with changing social and cultural conditions. Trying to find the answer to the question how ministry to the youth looks like in modern times, it is worthy to pay attention to the suggestions of Pope Francis, which are present in the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii gaudium. This document underlines the necessity of patient and merciful listening to young people and offer them one’s time. It also postulates to learn and use understandable language while working with the youth as well as to build a Christian environment. Likewise essential are efforts for deepening spirituality and the courageous quest for new forms in pastoral ministry of youth.
