Summary/Abstract: The world economy was shaken by a series of financial crises from 1990s. This decade saw a large number of crises, starting with the crises of the European Exchange Rate Mechanism in 1992/1993, through the Mexico “tequila” crisis in 1994/1995, to the Asian crisis in 1997/1998, the Russian crisis in 1998 and the Brazilian crisis in 1998/1999, Turkish crisis in 2001. Lastly, the global economy have been faced a financial crisis that emerged in USA, because of mortgage systems problem. The effect of crisis was felt starting in September 2009 and spreading to whole world. This paper analyses the impact of global financial crisis on the Turkish economy with macroeconomic indicators and policy to give response to global contracts.
