Summary/Abstract: This research about expessives, a type of speech acts, points to the importance of analysing the relationship among language, power and society as a triad in which neglecting one member inevitably leeds to an incomplete picture and, as a result, to incomplete conclusions. The fact that this research was done based on a corpus of drammas is an additional argument for such orientation because drammas are very often seen as a very good example for applying the theory of speech acts. It is also important to emphasize that conscience of language and power that is being created by it in a society can explain to every participant of the speech interaction his role in that process and call atention to a neccessity to avoid misuses of a language towards the other participants of the speech interactions.
