The Control System of the Public Administration in Slovakia

Summary/Abstract: The public administration through its bodies decides on rights, legal conditions and responsibilities of other subjects. This requests, at the same time, subsequent control of observance of legal enactments, legal norms, performance of the tasks efficiency and purposefulness. Public administration as goal-directed activity can include the control as the part of its functioning but the public administration itself can be the object of control from the side of other subjects. The aim of paper is to analyze the mutual relation and foundation of interconnection of public administration with the control activity, to analyze the control in the field of state administration and territorial self-government regarding their own particularities. At the same time, the paper also mentions potential insufficiencies of current control system and possibilities of their elimination.
