Sketches on Polish Subjectivity

Summary/Abstract: Marek Cichocki defines conditions necessary for developing Polish subjectivity in the international arena. The author’s conclusion is that as in any other country, there are no guarantees of Poland’s particular standing and role in the international arena. Subjectivity is a result of conscious political decisions made by a country’s elites. Main challenges facing Poland include resolving the problem of political leadership, meritocracy in public administration, securing energy sources and effective dealings with the East.
