Summary/Abstract: Premda već uveliko živimo u tzv. ‘kulturi ljudskih prava’ čiji elementi u kontekstu neoliberalnog kapitalizma čak poprimaju karakteristike ideološkog tvorbenog diskursa, na 220 obljetnicu od izdavanja pamfleta Rights of Man Thomasa Painea autor propituje same temelje ove kulture i svjetonazora koji su duboko revolucionarni i radikalno-demokratski. Vođen uvidima Richarda Rortyja o dvojakom shvaćanju demokratije danas – demokratije kao procedure i demokratije kao egalitarističke društvene utopije autor analizira smisao radikalne demokratije i koncepta revolucije danas. Although we have lived in the so-called ‘Human Rights Culture’ for quite awhile now, in contemporary context of neo-liberal capitalism that attaches to it certain features of an ideological discourse, on the ocasion of 220 years of the publication of Thomas Paine’s pamphlet Rights of Man, author questions the very foundations of this culture and the world-view that are deeply revolutionary and radically democratic. Lead by insights of Richard Rorty on two-way understanding of democracy today – democracy as mere procedure and democracy as egalitarian social utopia author analyses the very meaning of radical democracy and the concept of revolution today.
