Summary/Abstract: Over the past decade, a tendency to critically evaluate strategies for economic growth and a closer concern for others (not just economic) fundamentally important for both individuals and society demands that determine the quality of life and well-being are becoming increasingly apparent. This article briefly analyzes the global public policy changes and reveals the contours of the new ideology that focuses on – the people’s emotional well-being. The author presents the main characteristics of happiness and key factors that are important for a new approach to policy making. This article aims to discuss the logic of the choice of a broader policy objectives and overview the evolving practice of happiness-oriented policy. Author draws attention to the crucial importance of political leadership and effective cooperation with researchers and other social partners in all levels of public policy.
