Summary/Abstract: Creative economy represents the new way of developing various territories, such as national, regional or local ones. This concept is based on connecting economy, technology, innovations, creativity and culture which lead to growth and development of diverse regions, and help them in this constantly changing time to attract work force, creative work places and offer an attractive place to live. The aim of this paper, named Modification of Creativity Index for the Slovak Republic, is based on available scientific and professional works (Florida, 2003 – 2012; Howkins, 2006; Fonseca Reis, 2008; Tinagli, 2004 – 2009; etc.) to create method for quantification potential for establishing creative economy, the new way of ensuring national, regional or local development, in Slovak Republic and its various regions.Object of this article is Creativity Index modified to the Slovak conditions. Modified Creativity Index is established according to original 3T Creativity Index constructed by Richard Florida in 2002, its modification for Europe constructed by Florida and Irene Tinagli in 2004, and specifically for Sweden (Tingali, et al., 2007) and Norway (Tinagli, 2009). This paper represents results of Slovak Creativity Index applied on Trenčín region (NUTS 3 level) and its nine districts (NUTS 4 level). According to available data needed to quantify conditions of implementation creative economy in mentioned regions we had to perform the analysis of modified creativity index only for year 2011.
