Summary/Abstract: The article deals with map, approached as a literary theme and geopoetical tool which is helpful in describing the relations between literature and geographic space. This article presents exemplary interpretations of works by Stefan Chwin and Andrzej Stasiuk in the context of cartographic hermeneutics, as proposed by Karl Schlögel and Brian Harley. In those works, map serves as a metaphor of journey, authority, and the past.
