Women’s autobiographical writing. Evolution of Theory, Changes in Praxis of Reading

Summary/Abstract: This paper attempts to present the progress of changes of ways reading and interpreting women’s autobiographies. A special attention was given to the increasing influence of theoretical considerations, connected with tools taken from feminist literary criticism. Both history and theory of women’s autobiographical writing, as time went by, became more abundant, which resulted, among other factors, from the increasing amount of women’s literature. The reading of women’s autobiographical writing itself has been altered by new genres of that kind of friting.These new genres are also the reason why one cannot but find women’s autobiographical writing to be an utmost interesting interpretative field.
