Mother, autobiography. Essays

Summary/Abstract: The reading of three contemporary texts concerning maternity became the basis for searching for the answers to the following questions: how the autobiography of a mother might be written nowadays and why women choose this genre – what is the aim of fitting these texts into autobiography. The author interprets the texts of Agnieszka Graff (Matka feministka), Rachel Cusk (Praca na całe życie. O początkach macierzyństwa) and Małgorzata Łukowiak (Projekt matka. Niepowieść) and uses the methodology of postcolonial research. In this way the author tries to answer the questions. These questions, included in journals, public appearances, essays or blogs, concern building/constructing subjectivity of mother.
