Summary/Abstract: Anthropology of culture inspired the literature researchers to analyse and interpret the literary culture texts that present a man in the network of social connection and everyday activities on the background of the achievements of civilisation of a given period of time. The prospect of anthropology of culture gave way to an analysis and interpretation of the novel Wir Erben (2014) by an Austrian novelist, Angelica Reitzer. The analysis referring to the life of the protagonists, Marianne and Siri, presents the construction of the everyday procedures in the novel ( including the factors such as social and material space), indicating its referential character towards the reality. According to the provisions of the anthropology of culture (Ewa Kosowska) and anthropological and literary studies (Doris Bachmann-Medick), a literary text constitutes the source of the knowledge about the world of not only the literary characters, but also the one of the readers. The novel Wir Erben, read according to that key, allows contemporary readers to understand their own reality.
