Summary/Abstract: The article was dedicated to two anthologies Ein neuer Aufbruch? 1991–2011. Die Deutschschweizer Literatur nach der 700-Jahr-Feier (2012), published by Dorota Sośnicka and Malcolm Pender and Konstruktionen der Vergangenheit in der Deutschschweizer Literatur (2015) by Barbara Burns and Malcolm Pender. From the joint work of twenty experts in the German-speaking Swiss literature emerges a picture of a country full of contrasts, diverse in ethnicity and enriched by contributions from authors for whom Switzerland is the home of choice. A significant role is played by the question of history, including the infamous moments, i.e. The Second World War or Secret files scandal of 1989, and its demythologization.
