Summary/Abstract: The article is focused on the relationship between discourse markers and the process of reception. By using terms and methods of discourse linguistics, it is possible to describe the processes working under the surface of texts and discourses and to obtain a better understanding of the cooperation between the concept on the one side and used stylistic elements such as allegory on the other side. It was also possible to demonstrate that the kind of medium combined with a special network of knowledge offers special types of textual structures and language tools. In conclusion, we would maintain that cognitive linguistics in combination with methods of discourse analysis provides a significant set of tools for the systematic investigation of texts and discourse.
