Summary/Abstract: The question of culture is one of the most prominent topics in studies dedicated to organizational processes and behavior. In that context our intention is to analyze some of the strands of scholarship that study the relationship between culture and organizational behavior, particularly its potential implications on the interpretative strategies which articulate different ways of understanding and studying organizations. The variety of interpretative genres that exists in the area of organizational studies is a product of re-interpretation of classical sociological and anthropological thought. In this paper we aim to single out, but also integrate prominent authors’ certain ideas and theories, which impacted the development and growth of interest for the phenomenon of organizational culture to some extent, as well as its conceptualization within the framework of the interdisciplinary area of organizational theory. The main aim is to analyze specific ontological and epistemological questions which are directly related to the ways in which we understand the concept of organizational culture. The structure of the work is conceived so that sociological and anthropological approaches through two paradigmatic frameworks – structurally- functional and interpretative are introduced after the multiplicity of the nature of the term ‘organizational culture’ is set out.
