Summary/Abstract: In the paper proposed linguistic approach opens the possibility of interpretation of such a semantic category which fundamentally influences the constitution of other meanings of the text and which is closely bound to the creator of the text and his attitudes towards the content of the entire textual unit. The deciding factor in formation of this semantic category of the text is a modal subject (the speaker), whose attitude towards the content of the entire text determines the modal validity of the entire continuous language discourse. We are talking about the modality of the text (Dudová, 2004), under which we therefore understand the attitude of a speaker by means of these indicators towards the content of the whole text, which act as a base for his preferences, evaluation, emotional functioning, etc., and which determine boundaries of his learning based on the degree of conviction, or openness (possibility) or separeteness (necessity) towards other possible alternatives in the realization of an act. Such attitude signalizes in the text specific language units, which bear all semantic and cognitive preconditions for being able explicitly express boundaries influencing the attitude of a speaker (modal subject) on the horizontal and vertical level.
