Summary/Abstract: In Romania, the society embraced a family conservative model that tends to promote traditional values regarding marriage and parenting. For the past decades, the exposure to the European social universe through massive migration and increased interaction with various cultures and life styles resulted in the acceptance even by the most traditional Romanians of new relationship styles that were not tolerated by our society not long ago. Overall, this study was inspired by the changing characteristics of the modern society in the last few decades, including an older marriage age, celibacy and divorce rates. All these factors influence young people's choices, attitudes and behaviors regarding relationships, family life and professional life.
