Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of Ovidius phenomenon in the context of general principles of the interpretation theory. The understanding of the artist’s fate in Polish, Austrian and Ukrainian literature of the second half of the 20th century has been investigated. The work also exposes the peculiarity of the ancient Roman writer’s transformation from a historical personality into a literary image.
