Summary/Abstract: The article emphasizes the image of a Pole as „other” representation in the historical prose of Nechuy-Levitskiy, Mordovets and Starytskiy. The author examines the modeling strategies of hetero images in which the “othering” of Poles collective images is connected with the anticolonial strategy of Ukrainian literature of the late 19th century.
