Summary/Abstract: The paper presents Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, one of the greatest Polish writers of the 20th century, born in 1894 in Kalnik in Ukraine. Ukrainian roots, influences, particular sensitivity to the Polish-Ukrainian relations significantly influenced the unquestionable universality of his works.
