Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the concept of Central Europe in the essays by Yuri Andrukhovych and Andrzej Stasiuk collected in the book My Europe. Both authors try to deconstruct the spatial categories deeply rooted in the collective consciousness, at the same time proving to be reproducers of the regressive mental schemes generated inside the European discourse.
