Summary/Abstract: The primary purpose of this report is to describe the territory of today's Kyrgyzstan from twosides (Russian and Anglo-American), thus, the cultural clash of the East and West. This topicis presented on the example of the day-to-day life. Using everydayness for outlining the situationallows greater transparency in differences between these two cultures. How can oneordinary day in the life of an average Kyrgyz change if it is seen from another country, blockor ideology point of view? It is possible to look at one country, its traditions and customsfrom two different points of view and often result in completely different conclusions. Attemptto objectively describe the situation is often affected by ideologies, time, and byexperiences and nature of the scientist or traveller. Precisely these aspects that have influencedperceptions of day-to-day life are taken into consideration and explained in more detail.The emphasis is put in particular on factors such as cultural background of the observer, hisideology, a religion and finally, on his personal relation to a given territory. This article aimsto clarify the differences in evaluation of everyday life in Kyrgyzstan in terms of East andWest, would like to show how to result in different interpretations with respect to the one whopresents the opinion. How do people today live in Kyrgyzstan, has their daily life changedradically after the collapse of the Soviet Union and after gaining independence? How is thecountry and its people viewed from the perspective of travellers and foreign media, and howdo the Kyrgyz perceive themselves?
