Summary/Abstract: According to the new legal regulations the professional development is understood as the acquisition or development of knowledge and skills of the employee, with the employer’s initiative or with his consent. The knowledge and skills that an employee acquires from the professional development may be related to the type of the performed work or held position as well as the widely understood general knowledge. All the rights and obligations arising from the professional development should be specified in the training contract by the parties of the employment contract.
