WARSAW AS THE MAIN TOURIST RECEPTION AREA IN POLAND

Summary/Abstract: This paper concerns the issue of big cities as popular tourist reception areas. The most visited city in Poland is Warsaw, which determines tourist movement in the whole mazowieckie region. The article describes Warsaw as the main tourist destination in Poland and presents the size and growth dynamics of domestic and international tourist movement in the years 2009–2014. It has been underlined that the tourist attractiveness of mazowieckie region is based on the presence of the capital city. In order to increase the tourist movement in Mazovia it is important to create a complex tourism product and common image of the whole region.
