Summary/Abstract: Marianne Csáky in Conversation with Tamás Hofer. Cultural anthropology was one of the disciplines introduced with the support of the Soros Foundation as part of the educational reforms at the Eötvös Loránd University in the fall of 1990. Tamás Hofer is one of the professors teaching at the program, which has proved immensely popular, drawing between one and two hundred freshman applicants each year.
