Summary/Abstract: The new economy is sustainable economy which wants to reduce the consumption of natural resources, to achieve social cohesion, to increase the number of jobs. Support this type of economy is provided by information and communication technology through which information becomes the main economic resource. This article presents the role of information in the context of new economy and the quantifications of results throught indicators.
